Men who are
beasts, beasts who are men! This is the weird riddle confronting young Tom
Swift and his fellow expeditioners as they travel to the lush Amazon Basin to
field-test Swift Enterprises' ingenious exploration vehicle, the junglemobile.
The test takes place in a dark, forbidding region of the dense jungle, known
ominously as The Forest Where God Can Not See. Here in the green shadows the
safari encounters a band of felow trekkers, researchers seeking the source of a
medicinal substance with remarkable properties. Here also they encounter
haunting figures among the giant trees who attack the Glidepath vehicle and snatch unwary travelers into the treetop
gloom for purposes unknown. Tom's exploit builds to a climax as he is taken by
force to a city hidden from human sight where lifeforms new to our world crawl
forth from the Pool of Life--resting place of the dead!
