A weird blast
of sound engulfs an American city. Tom Swift, demonstrating his newest
invention at a noise reduction conference, is caught up in the terror and
destruction -- and mystery. It seems the sonic attackers, who descend from the
sky with with drone sound-boomers, are somehow connected to the disappearance
of Dr. John Wyvern, whose daughter Elsa has come to Tom for help. Tom ferrets
out a clue with the aid of his robotic “bloodhound,” the sensitector. One
clue leads to another, and the trail points to the great Australian Outback,
where an entire tribal family has vanished without a trace under eerie,
inexplicable circumstances.Yet as the terror attacks on American cities
continue, it seems the only hope is Tom’s sonic silentenna, a revolutionary
device able to neutralize sound. One attack is foiled dramatically -- but the
key to defeating a brazen threat may lie in the Australian desert, where
blazing fire and the warning wail of the didjeridoo
horn signify danger and death!
